Founded in 1980 in Palermo, began singing as a child to play with brothers and cousins, songs by the Beatles and New Trolls. In 1997 Elisabeth became part of an association that deals with artistic talent, the "Borning Stars", followed by the teacher and friend Valentina Busato and her father, the artistic producer Mario Busato. Begins shortly after a period of selections ("Fininvest" and "fantastic" among others, and later win the third place as "fantastic 97-song") and live performances in various pubs in Palermo. The association "Borning Stars" closes for administrative and Elisa choose to continue by himself. From 1998 to 2000 he participated frequently as a guest of honor at many area shows, playing a repertoire of Italian music chosen. In 2001, at the invitation of Mario Busato, enter the contest "2nd Festivalbar of the City of Palermo," won the 3rd place. In 2002 he resumed his activity as part of a musical band, " Le Erranze ”, nata da un progetto del batterista e cantante romano Emiliano Rocchi (E.Rocchi: voce e synth programming; Elisa Zummo: voce; Peppe Di Blasi: chitarre; Marco Calì: basso elettrico; Giovanni Fiorenza: didjeridoo). Elisa, Calì e Rinella sperimentano then (and still with great success ...) the inclusion in the training of cellist Angelo Di Mino. The now "Baghdad Cafe Quartet" is thus an ideal set-up, no percussive elements of nature with the predominant and new spaces designed by the sound of the cello lines. E 'with this sound emotional, deep and rich that the quartet receives a large part in its successful concerts, which now (2006) continue to occur continuously.

Basso elettrico, chitarra, armonica, percussioni, voce

E’ allora che il Provveditorato University of Palermo to accept the proposal of the same Cali and Mark Morici to design and build the current "Days of Art Student" Palermo. Also during this period, the session with his friend composer and pianist Gianluca Cangemi (and other instrumentalists) some songs are born very experimental (now available on the home page of the same Cangemi) .
In 1999/2000 is united for a short time the psychedelic funk-jazz trio consisting of David Ilardi (drums) / Luca Zasa (keyboards) / Sergio Callarelli (guitars). At the same time continue the sessions with numerous musicians among the most diverse.
E 'in 2000/2001 that the current bassist of Baghdad Cafe experience goes hard rock trio formed with Giuseppe Di Blasi (guitar) and Claudio Rubino (drums). The three make up a repertoire autograph on ideas and arrangements primarily Di Blasi, unfortunately, though appreciated and supported by musicians of great caliber of Palermo in the scene (like the friend percussionist Sergio Manduca Cangemi or the same), the band will continue until the end of the year for the start of Ruby and serious family problems in Cali.
From 2002 to 2004 is quite successful but the collaboration with the composer and singer / drummer Emiliano Roman fortress, the ethno-electronic rock project "wandering" on the same rock compositions.
E’ nel 2004 che lo stesso Calì pensa bene di riunire per la prima volta 7 musicisti, ciascuno dal differente background musicale (rock-progressive, hard rock, folk, classica, blues, bossa nova, jazz, etc ...) to create what would be a "Lounge-Funk cover band" (the "Babbaloux Groove Machine"), aimed to revive the musical themes of the '70s detective films. The band performs in different sessions to Not Just Alive Ramparts and pretty successful.
In 2005, following the idea of \u200b\u200bElisa Zummo (estimated vocalist as well as beloved life companion), part of the project in February of a cover band of the most famous symbols of Japanese cartoons aired on TV in the '70s and '90s. The band " Cartoonia " still receives considerable success and public approval in Palermo, anywhere. Made up of good musicians, as well Cali as a bass player and background vocalist and vocalist Elisa Zummo ( Inguaggiato Paul on keyboards and vocals, Mirko Montalbano Modestini Dario on drums and electric guitar), stands today as perhaps the only cartoon cover band of high technical level in all of Southern Italy. E 'in 2006, again with great professionalism and initiative, Ely Zummo involves the same Cali, Davide Rinella and David Rizzuto in the idea that, almost immediately, takes shape in the current "Baghdad Cafe Quartet" ( with the subsequent release of Rizzuto and the arrival of Angelo Di Mino).
addition to the above groups and projects, of which he has done and continues to do part Marco Calì ha partecipato a numerosissime sessions musicali in locali, studi, sale prove, feste, per strada e nei posti più svariati (anche in veste di percussionista, armonicista blues e cantante) con musicisti di ogni genere, grado d’esperienza, nazionalità ed estrazione musicale.

Inoltre in questi anni Angelo ha affiancato al violoncello, l’attività di compositore sia di brani instrumental electronic music: he composed several pieces for solo cello (acoustic and electric), three string quartets, several pieces of chamber music and different pieces of experimental music and ambient chill out.
